The other side of the fence #1. Duffield mainline. The EVR platorm is bounded by the two fences seen to the right of the approaching northbound Virgin unit. 4th February 2006.Previous | NextThe new fencing at Duffield that will enable visitors a direct entry to the EVR from the main line station. A comparison can be made with the February 2006 photo below right. 25th November 2006.(#1) Historical note: The original MR/LMR 'Duffield Junction' layout saw the disused Platform 1, seen to the right, as the down main line. The present day 'up main', seen to the left, served as the up slow and was not graced with a platform. In its heyday, Duffield Junction was a bustling villiage station served by numerous staff, quaint buildings and a proud feature to the local population. A far cry from todays 21st century 'modern' enviroment.
